Motorcycle insurance is very similar to auto insurance. It also provides protection against property damage, legal liability, and medical expenses. Here are some special considerations Brian P. Cook recommends keeping in mind when you insure your bike:
- Completing an accredited training course can significantly reduce the cost of motorcycle insurance. In many cases, insurers will offer a discount between 10 and 15 percent for completion of such a course. This can be especially important for younger riders.
- In addition to ordinary discounts such as a good driver discount, bike riders can often receive specialized discounts from insurance companies. Ask us about mature rider discounts, (for long-time motorcycle riders) organization discounts, (if you belong to a motorcycle association)
and multi-bike discounts.
